Riyadh Metro Line 2 East Tunnel Breakthrough

Breakthrough has been achieved in the East Tunnel of Line 2 of the Riyadh Metro Project, according to the Gall Zeidler website (www.gzconsultants.com). The Riyadh Metro Project is currently one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in the world. The project consists of 6 metro lines connecting various parts of the city. The planned rail network is comprised of a system of elevated rail, rail at grade and two underground running tunnels. Gall Zeidler is performing both design and construction support services for the Riyadh Metro Project.  The project, begun in 2013, is planned for completion in 2018.
